Casa Aurora is our state-of-the-art gender responsive clinical program for female offenders. The program is a Female Rehabilitative Community Correctional Center that provides services for up to 83 women.
Our program provides a broad range of habilitation and rehabilitation, including:

  • Trauma treatment due to abuse and battering
  • Educational development and vocational training
  • Job skills, including how to interview, what to wear, and how to behave
  • Daily living skills including budgeting, cooking, and self-care
  • Parenting courses to support parenting responsibilities
  • Treatment for substance abuse
  • Treatment of underlying psychiatric disorders
  • Treatment of medical and dental problems, and promotion of health and wellness
  • A safe and nurturing environment in which trust can be developed to confront the shame and guilt that results from their past substance abusing and criminal behavior
  • Skill building to develop self-esteem, confidence, and tools for pro-social living
  • Problem solving, anger management and other decision skills
  • Pro-social leisure activities


Casa Aurora is a vital next step in the treatment continuum for women who begin treatment in prison, and are ready to serve the remainder of their sentence in a therapeutic, community-based setting.
