Program Description
This program provides intensive rehabilitative services for female inmates in a community correctional rehabilitative environment. It is designed to provide gender-specific comprehensive re-entry and rehabilitative services to females incarcerated within the CDCR system. These services include, but are not limited to, substance abuse treatment and education, relapse prevention, individual, group and family counseling, educational and vocational programs, skill building, family reunification, wellness and exercise, and other therapeutic services. This program uses a unique blending of clinical and social models to achieve a global change in lifestyle allowing the participants to lead a productive, law-abiding, alcohol and drug-free lifestyle by incorporating personal and community support systems.

Position Description
The Licensed Social Worker/Psychologist is responsible primarily for providing for the mental health needs of the CCCMS participants.

• Provide the clinical care required to meet the mental health needs of the CCCMS participants.
• Participates in the selection, interview and hiring of new clinical staff.
• Contributes to the training of new clinical staff.
• Participation in the Quality Assurance Program.
• Oversight of clinical responsibilities of clinical staff, including supervision at group and individual levels.
• Assistance in the clinical management of high-risk cases.
• Oversight responsibility of outcome analyses related to the program.
• Provision of psychological assessments
• Review referrals and provide recommendations as to the appropriate level of care.
• Provide staff training, as needed.
• Participation in staff development activities and trainings.
• Provide regular individual supervision to Family Service Coordinators staff and group clinical supervision and staff training as needed.
• Other clinical, supervisory, or administrative duties as assigned by Program Director.
• Successfully functions as a team member.
• Complies with all MHS and program rules, policies and procedures including HIPAA standards.

 

 

Education and Experience Requirements
• Licensed Psychologist in the state of California with Doctorate in psychology or related field, or:
• Possession of a valid license as an LCSW issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners (CBBS), or Registered Intern with CBBS, eligible for supervised licensure status, and shall be eligible for licensure within two years.
• Minimum of 3 years experience providing clinical treatment services to women with severe behavioral and emotional disorders, as well as their families.
• Experience in recognition and treatment of substance abuse and other addictions
• Knowledge of community systems and resources
• Experience in documentation of records and data collection
• Bi-lingual (Spanish speaking) preferred
• Cultural competency relevant to community/communities served
• Valid California automobile operators license and insurance.
