Program Description

MHS' School-Based Program provides mental health services to minors at eleven San Diego Unified School District Schools. The goal of the program is to enhance the child's functioning in school, home and/or the community. Specific goals include increasing school attendance, improving school performance, and decreasing any further school related problems.  We serve Medi-Cal eligible and uninsured minors in specified schools.

 

Position Description

·        Overall responsibility for program operation, staffing and success. Provides oversight of programmatic and administrative operation of the program, implements and monitors approved policies and procedures, ensures the highest quality of services and promotes program growth and development. Reviews, oversees, and ensures accurate contract outcomes and data; Trains staff in proper documentation procedures; participates in treatment teams/case consultation to ensure fidelity to the program model; ensures quality training in service delivery and responsible for medical record/documentation quality and compliance and participation in Medi-cal audits.  

·        Recruits, assesses and recommends candidates to fill vacant positions.  Fully implements affirmative action, equal opportunity and cultural diversity at the recruitment level.

·        Oversees the planning and implementation of the family support services, information and referral, and outreach service components of the program.

·        Provides supervision to staff. Supervises and coaches staff performance and utilizes sound management practice theory to both reward good performance and correct deficiencies.  Supervises, leads the program staff in in-service training.  Provides leadership necessary to achieve program success.

·        Adheres to program budget and reviews monthly operating statements to insure program financial integrity.  Maintains thorough and accurate financial records, including maintaining an accurately balanced petty cash fund and accounting for all expenditures. Consults with Division Vice President regarding financial issues.  Reviews monthly statistics and individual client funding sources in order to achieve maximum billing to Medi-Cal.

 

Education and Experience Requirements

·         The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of clinical experience working with children and families and at least 2 years of managerial and supervisory experience. 

·         Master's degree and minimum of 2 years’ post licensure (LCSW, MFT, PhD) required.
